2022 ITF Seniors World Championships Coming to Palm Beach County
The International Tennis Federation (ITF), the governing body of international tennis, and the Palm Beach County Sports Commission with support from USTA and USTA Florida are excited to announce the Seniors World Tennis Championships are returning to Palm Beach County from April 30 to May 14, 2022.
2022 ITF Seniors World Championships Palm Beach CountyThe International Tennis Federation (ITF), the governing body of international tennis, and the Palm Beach County Sports Commission with support from USTA and USTA Florida are excited to announce the Seniors World Tennis Championships are returning to Palm Beach County from April 30 to May 14, 2022.

George Linley, Executive Director of the Sports Commission stated that he is delighted that the ITF decided to choose Palm Beach County again for such a prestigious event which was last held in the USA in 2014.

Jackie Nesbitt, ITF Director said the ITF views Palm Beach County as a perfect location for these high-quality senior events. Ms. Nesbitt is delighted the players can enjoy the first-class amenities and all the social functions as well as off-court activities that are available to them in this area.

Trish Faulkner, event organizer says she is excited that over 35 different countries are represented in the team competition with 126 teams in age divisions 50, 55, 60 for men and women players. The Team events will be hosted by five country clubs in Boca Raton – Boca West, the Polo Club, Broken Sound, Woodfield, and Boca Grove. Opening ceremonies will be on April 30 at Boca West with team matches beginning Sunday, May 1 at 11 am at all facilities.

Starting May 7, the highly ranked world senior players move to the Palm Beach Gardens area where the following clubs will host all the individual championship matches – BallenIsles, Mirasol, PGA Resort, North Palm Beach, and City of Palm Beach Gardens. All finals of all events, singles, doubles, and mixed will take place at the beautiful BallenIsles Country Club May 13 – 14. All matches will start at 11 am each day at all facilities.

The ITF stages this event all over the world in various locations, so it is a wonderful opportunity for Palm Beach County tennis enthusiasts to view world-class senior tennis. Many sponsors are helping to bring this event back to the area. Presenting Sponsor Welch Tennis is very happy to help stage this event. USTA Florida helps provide funding and volunteers. Returning sponsors who were excited the event was being hosted again in their county are Florida Power and Light, Tennis Warehouse, Unites States Professional Tennis Association, FastDry- 10s-Supply, and Dermatology Associates of the Palm Beaches.
