Here's a closer look at the innovative updates that started in April 2022 on both the East Course and practice facilities and the exciting future that’s still ahead.

A Full East Course Renovation
Designed by Senior Designer Chris Cochran, the East Course has been re-designed to add playability and strategy to every hole. While the original course only had six sets of tees, the new course will have eight sets of tees, ranging from 7,500 yards PGA tees to 4,400 yards at the most forward tees. Also added is a Par 3 course incorporated into the design with yardages ranging from 75 to 145 yards. Designed to ensure enjoyment by beginners and tournament players alike, the new course will provide variety and strategy with every shot. The Par 4’s will soon be some of the favorite holes on the course, having a great mix of shorter holes with more challenging greens and mid to longer holes with greens that are more open on one side.

Natural beauty is pivotal in the course’s design, and the greens and bunkers have been significantly enhanced with distinctive complexes that create a beautiful focal point. Seventy-five trees have also been relocated and strategically placed in areas around the course, creating a better shaping of the holes and challenging players to think before hitting their tee shot.

New Practice Grounds Will Become the Envy of Palm Beach Gardens
Along with the East Course renovations, Senior Designer Chad Goetz has been leading the way in creating new practice grounds that will help players of every skill level perfect their swing. The short game area will have seven greens in total, including a 25,000-square-foot putting green with an 18-hole putting course and a warm-up green. Five short game greens were created to resemble the look and feel of all three championship golf courses, offering every shot Members could imagine.

The long game practice areas will be divided into two ends - the North and South end. The South end will take on a new look and feel with the addition of Toptracer technology to each bay, along with Flagd Golf digital yardage boards indicating yardages to each target. Members will now be able to have data-driven practice sessions, and even compete against fellow Members from an app on their mobile devices. The South end has also been expanded with areas to hit shots from uneven lies, work on long bunker shots, and practice the wedge game with exact 15-yard increments to five smaller target greens.

Innovative Golf Learning Center Coming Soon
The North end of the practice grounds will soon become the premier destination within BallenIsles for golf instruction, custom fittings, and club repairs. In the spring of 2023, a newly constructed 71’ Golf Learning Center (71’ being the address and paying homage to Nicklaus’ PGA win) open with four enclosed practice and learning bays featuring state-of-the-art technology, including Trackman and Sam Putt Lab. The center will also have retail space and a dedicated club repair area.
